Alaska's first TWO flyball tournaments

Whoa! We've played a LOT of flyball...met a LOT of really neat people...and had a really good time up here in Alaska. I will be back. No question. If you are ever thinking of a vacation destination. Come here. Really.

Our 1st seeded flyball team - Good2Go Whirlwind - placed first in the first tournament last Wednesday and Friday and our 3rd seeded team - Good2Go Fur Blur - came in 3rd. How's that for seeding?

After the second tournament, we flipped positions and Fur Blur came in first due to VERY steady racing, and Whirlwind came in 3rd due to ...well...not so steady racing.. :).

Everyone had a GREAT time racing with Alaska Dogs Gone Wild - our hosts - as well as with DogGoneFast from North Carolina. Thanks to both teams for filling handler and boxloader spots for us when we were head to head with ourselves.

ADGW had great media coverage as well - TV, radio, and print - and there were quite a number of spectators particularly on the weekend. Kudos to Curtis Smith for heading up one of the best tournements our team has ever had the pleasure to participate in. Thanks again to ADGW from all at G2G.

Pic updates as soon as I can figure out how to link a folder from my website out of Dreamweaver. Anyone have any ideas? :)

Some are wondering...

Really neat place..lots of room..and we are the biggest group they have ever had!!

Woo!

No flyball today - rained out - so there may be updates....stay tuned..

Fast forward to now!

really...I can't keep up with all the stuff goiing on up here and keep the blog up to date...so here's a deal OK? I'll post something as often as possible, but I'm still sifting though the literally hundreds of pictures that have been taken so that I can post them. I'll do that ASAP. In the meantime, we went on a glacier tour from Whittier, AK yesterday and started the flyball tournament today. Here's a couple of pics to tide you all over...

Day 2...Grande Prairie, AB to Watson Lake, YK.

06/16/06 Not far out of Grande Prairie is Dawson Creek, BC; home to Mile 0 of the Alaska Highway. We have a bunch of pics of this area (it is truly beautiful) and I'll be linking those out tomorrow. Also..our first taste of 'long days'. The sun did not set until after midnight in Watson Lake that night. REALLY COOL.

Rain.....

06/15/06 First day on the road to Alaska..it rained..then rained some more..then continued to rain all the way to Grande Prairie, AB - our first stop...16+ hours after we left Saskatchewan with 4 people, 2 vehicles and 10 dogs.

Things are looking up!
